The “EFI/ETC Essentials” class is designed for students who have a firm grasp of EFI/ETC systems basics and are seeking more knowledge specific to the service of the Vanguard® EFI/ETC equipped engines.

Hands-on Topics include:
> Troubleshooting circuits
> Sensor theory and testing
> System component testing
> Use of the available diagnostic tools
> Laptop software overview and troubleshooting lab utilizing the software
> Advanced electrical troubleshooting

Fuel system overview/service procedures and advanced symptom-based troubleshooting is also discussed at length.

The knowledge gained in this one-day class will provide the confidence you are looking for in the service and sales procedures of Vanguard EFI/ETC engine offerings.

The advanced class is designed to incorporate real-world experience. With a focus on honing your diagnostic efficiency, you, as a participant, will be faced with several real-world scenarios in a case study format. The best part of this class is you get to “get your hands dirty” by following through on the repair you have determined is the right course of action.

You will also have access to our advanced EFI/ETC trainers at these events to help you learn and gain experience. Participants will receive a hard copy of our EFI/ETC Service & Diagnostics manual, and you will gain first hand experience with many of our EFI/ETC service tools, including our latest generation computer based diagnostics service tool. Students that pass a short exam at the end of the class will receive an EFI/ETC Service Expert Certificate and a recognition kit to show off your achievement.

The class is one day, starting with refresher topics. The rest is hands on. It’s recommended you participate in the “EFI/ETC Essentials” classes prior to the Advanced class for the best possible learning experience.

  • The field analysis class is a narrowing down of the failures. There are four categories that an engine can fail 99% of the time.
  • They cover these categories in class, abrasive ingestion – insufficient lubrication – overheating – breakage.
  • Briggs shows what the failure looks like on their own and then shows you what it looks like when compounded with another failure.

Class size is limited. Hotel and transportation needs are the responsibility of the attendee.
